Who is in the doghouse now?

Cypress Health Region - Palliser Regional Care Centre

We all know that you can’t have care without care providers. However, it is not only the care providers that put the management of Cypress Health Region in the doghouse.  It is the residents too!  See the letter to the editor that our Palliser Regional Care Centre resident, Sonja Fortney, recently submitted to the South-West booster.

She lives on 3rd floor and she is tired of the unsafe staffing levels and the lack of resources caused by management’s poor decision-making and government funding cuts.

South West Booster On-line: Free medical care implemented in 1944 should be sustainable now

  1. Great letter, Sonja Fortney! What the Wall government and the Health Regions have relied on is that the elderly and sick are not able to advocate for themselves. No longer true, thank God. Hopefully there will be more voices. And for those unable to speak up for themselves, perhaps their loved ones can.
Also, great comments after the letter.
As an aside...the Cypress Health Region insists we call our residents and patients `customers`. A `customer`can take their business elsewhere if dissatisfied with the service. Ill patients, and seniors in long term care facilities cannot. Get a grip CHR.
